Setup Battle is the part of Crewlier with no practical purpose whatsoever, and it is one of the most used. You post your desk, everyone else scores it out of ten, and the leaderboard sorts itself out.
Add photos or a video of your setup, then pick your components from the catalogue. Nothing is typed in by hand, so nobody can inflate their own rig.
Entries are reviewed before they go public. If something is wrong you are told exactly why and can fix it — a rejection is not a dead end.
Your setup appears in the feed for other players, who give it a score from one to ten and can leave a comment. You vote on other setups the same way, one card at a time.
Setups are grouped into leagues by what the hardware can actually do, so an entry-level build is not competing against a flagship. The leaderboard sorts by rating within your league.
A setup with two tens does not outrank one with fifty ratings averaging nine and a half. Scores are weighted so that a rating earned across many votes counts for more than a lucky pair — otherwise the top of the leaderboard would simply be whoever posted most recently.
Any entry can be made anonymous. Your setup competes and appears on the leaderboard, but your name, photo and reputation are not attached to it. The switch is on the entry rather than on your account, so you can be open everywhere else in the app and still keep this one private.
Components come from a maintained catalogue rather than free text, and that is what makes leagues possible: a graphics card's league position is derived from what it can actually do, not from what its owner claims. If your part is missing you can report it, it gets added, and you are told when it is ready.
A comment lives together with the score it came from. You can edit or delete your own, and anyone can report one that crosses a line. Removing a comment never removes the score it came with — a deleted comment does not quietly change the standings.
No. Leagues exist precisely so that an entry-level build competes with other entry-level builds. Plenty of the highest-rated setups are modest machines that were put together with care.
You are always told the reason. Usually it is a photo that does not show the setup, or components that do not match what is in the picture. Fix it and resubmit — the ratings you already have are not lost.
Changing components or photos sends the entry back for review, but your ratings stay. The score belongs to you, not to a particular graphics card.
Report it from the picker and it gets added. You get a notification when it is available so you can finish your entry.
